When you set up Facebook and Twitter accounts, they should interact with your blog, helping to show your level of expertise. A blog should be a generator of education and information and help to build your niche credibility.

There are a number of excellent initiatives available to help you establish your blog. For example, you can syndicate the content, so that your blog posts appear within a number of other blogs around the net, each of which is looking for great content and features targeted to your particular niche. Of the many out there, this can be one of the most powerful techniques.

One fundamental thought you need to bear in mind is that people are always looking for social proof before they buy something online. This is why you should integrate testimonials within your main sales site as prominently as possible. Consider top ranked sites such as Amazon.com, who fully rely on the social proof phenomenon. You can read any number of items of feedback related to every single item that they sell. They go further, by showing you what others actually purchased, they help to solidify your train of thought. When compiling your blog, do everything you can to interact with your readers. Initiate a blog commenting program, to get a thread started and don’t be afraid to allow an element of controversy, so long as it is reasonable and non-harmful, of course. The idea is to convince visitors that your blog is the place to be and encourage them to sign up for your RSS feed, bookmark and come back.

Bookmarking sites abound on the Internet. Here you’ll come across virtual social networks, where like-minded individuals get together to share their interest in the subject or niche. Sometimes you can find bookmarking sites that are really targeted, such as technology, while others are more generic. Work out which bookmarking sites would be best for you to join and to help promote your interest in that niche. As we have said before, regular maintenance and involvement is most beneficial. Fill out your bookmark account profiles as much as possible, showing photographs of you, your biographies and try and find some friends to sign up with, within.

While it is certainly possible to bookmark your own sites and your blog postings, for example, if you can get many others to do so as well this is far more powerful. There are now some clubs emerging where membership opens your content to bookmarking by the other members. Through a reciprocal arrangement and for best effect, you would bookmark the other members’ content. Alternatively, you can opt for that will bookmark your content for you. When you have something unusual or unique to talk about, bookmarking can really help spread the word. Indeed, if the content really is stirring it can create a viral response and inspire waves of traffic. While on the subject of notification, you should remember that each new blog post should be “pinged,” which is a semi automatic notification service, and helps to update the engines that your blog has new material, worthy of interest.
